Advent Christmas Unit Study 2007
Posted by photojenic on November 20, 2007
I’ve been trying to put together some great links to use for either a lapbook, notebooking, or just to help celebrate Advent and Christmas. I’ve tried to include a little bit for all ages, and the best links I’ve discovered so far. I’ll add a section at the end of new links that I find. Enjoy!
12 Days of Christmas lapbook resources – Links to pages and activities to study the meaning of the 12 Days of Christmas
Night Before Christmas – Lapbook/Unit Study resources
The Christmas Story Advent Coloring book – Print out and color a page every day to reinforce the Christmas story.
Christmas Crafts, Booklets, Printables and Activities – Another fabulous collection of ideas from Enchanted Learning
Christmas Themed Math Pages – K-5th grades
Collection of Christmas Printables and Ideas for Homeschoolers – From HomeschoolHelper. A fabulous site for many topics!
Jesse Tree Devotional and Printables – from Faith Magazine
Jesse Tree Calendar – Daily ideas for celebrating the advent season, with devotional.
Jesse Tree Coloring Book – The illustrations are, well…. not impressive. But it’s a great idea! Maybe you could substitute your own images.
Jesse Tree Family Devotional – RCA Church resources
The ABC of Advent – Interesting way to present the Advent story.
ABC Advent Calendar – to color
Tons of Christmas Printables – from abcteach.com
Tiny Christmas ABC book – printable. Has both Secular and Religious references
Christmas Crafts for Kids – Danielle’s Place. Some free…some members only.
Luke 2 Worksheet set – Huge! For older children
23 Day Advent Chain Calendar – complete with scripture verses. A neat idea! Link ONE and TWO
$$$ E-books:
12 Week Holiday Planner for the Christian Family – Full of great ideas to organize your holiday season. Also comes with Jesse tree devotional, ornaments and instructions.
The Glorious Coming – Jesse Tree Advent Celebration book (see above) sold separately.
NEW LINKS:
Christmas Countdown Chain – Great graphics. Link ONE and TWO
Christmas Countdown Wreath – Could use to count down to Christmas or as a nice holiday craft.
Nativity Bookmarks – four bookmarks per page. (NIV)
Jesus Tree – decorations and ornaments
The Arrival – neat mini video and printable pages to make your own mini-book. You’ll have to scroll down to see this video.
Printable Nativity scene – You can print the complete scene in B&W or color, or print each individual piece and have the kids build the nativity during advent.
What God wants for Christmas – set of coloring sheets. Cute!
Nativity Lapbook - Great for young kids too! I don’t know who the author is, or the website this came from unfortunately. So I am offering the download here on my blog. If you recognize this set, please contact me so I can give the author credit!
Tomi de Paola Curriculum – If you are a fan of Tomi de Paola, you’ll probably really like this literature unit for Advent/Christmas using his books.
Nativity Felt Board Set – You don’t have to use it for a felt board, makes a great nativity set for any purpose!
Online Advent Calendar – No peeking until December 2! Looks fun!
Advent Paper Chain – Preprinted with the days in December, leading up to Christmas.
EVEN MORE NEW LINKS:
Gingerbread Baby Lapbook Unit Study – Homeschoolshare.com is an AWESOME site! (I think I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating.)
2007 Advent Calendar Online – At TeachingMom.com
Christian Christmas Advent Calendar – Usually has a craft, bible reading, activity and more for each day.
Santa or Tree Christmas Countdowns – From Childcareland.com (another awesome site with freebies and $$). I’m linking you to her main printable page. But scroll all the way down to the bottom for the Santa or Tree. Cute way to mark the days until Christmas! She has TONS of other great stuff on her website. I think she adds them in the order that she makes them (instead of by month/theme), so be sure to look further to find more Christmas/Winter printables she has available.
Added 11/29:
Decorate an online gingerbread house – Adorable! (I had fun playing with it too. lol….)
Gingerbread Math – Use alone, or with your Gingerbread Baby lapbook above.
Names of Jesus – From Easyfunschool
Added 11/30:
Christmas Unit Study – For your older children! 13yrs and up.
Cute Christmas Printables – From the Toymaker website. Beautiful printables!
