Birthday and July 4th Round Up

Wow, what a weekend!

July 4th was pretty much a lazy, hang around the house day. We worked on cleaning it up a bit to get ready for DS’s birthday party, but mostly we just relaxed. In the evening we went to a friends house and did fireworks. Unfortunately, the only kind of fireworks we could find ANYWHERE were just popper type things. However, the kids ended up having a lot of fun anyway.

Friday was DS’s actual birthday, so we took him to Chuck-E-Cheese for the first time ever, and had a small family celebration. I think he was a bit overwhelmed by all the noise and flashing lights…and we had to go during his normal nap time because DD had to go to work in the afternoon. Overall, though, I think he had a pretty good time.

Saturday was his Thomas themed birthday party with his friends. We bought a pop-up house that came with tunnels, and could attach to the pop-up car we already had. The boys had a blast ducking into the house at one end, scrambling through the tunnels and out the car on the other side. Then we had cake and ice cream, opened presents, and played some more. This was DS’s first birthday “party” with someone other than family, and they all seemed to have a great time.

Great slide shows, usually they are too slow to load and slow to watch (on other blogs).

Gotta say that the pic of your dh and ds — do they look like two peas in a pod or what!??!
