Journaling:
Look at this handsome prince! Daddy found him hiding by the back fence this morning. It was very cold, and we think he was trying to find someplace to keep warm. He didn’t move much at first, but once he started warming up in the house, he was more lively. (Well, as lively as a toad can get.) We think he’s a Texas toad (bufo speciosus). We had to be very careful handling him because he had poison glands right behind his eyes. It sure was cool having him visit for the day!
